Physical Description

Farah is a tall girl of dark complexion and athletic build. Her skin is a medium bronze-brown hue, though light enough that she could pass for a tanned Caucasian if one didn't know her ethnicity. Her hair is jet-black and cut boyishly short. Farah's face is long and somewhat narrow, with large, almond-shaped dark-brown eyes, a sharp chin and nose, and thin lips. Her neck is thicker than that of the average girl, while her chest is a high-end B cup. She is long-legged, with muscular limbs toned from years of exercise and a consistently healthy diet.

Farah's wardrobe typically consists of T-shirts, tank tops, jeans, track pants, loose shorts, running shoes, and a particularly well-worn pair of hiking boots.

Psychological Profile

General Personality

Externally Farah often seems fairly reserved. She is a quiet girl, though this is not so much a result of shyness as it is of the enjoyment she gets from observing the world around her and of entertaining idle thoughts inside her head. When approached Farah is easygoing but tends towards a blunt mode of speech, choosing words that get her point across most directly. She laughs infrequently, though brief smiles tend to convey her amusement well enough in her opinion. She prefers to avoid making herself the center of attention, though should the spotlight fall upon her she is usually graceful and collected. Above all she tends to be very calm and unshakeable. However, when she IS enraged her temper is extremely fierce and often results in broken furniture, physical altercations, or a lot of shrieking aimed at venting her emotions without having to hurt anyone. Fortunately her outbursts of temper are extremely rare.

Romantic Preferences

Many of Farah's romantic preferences are well-concealed. She tends to take a dominant role in relationships and can be quite possessive of those close to her. Though she is generally not fond of public displays of affection she can be quite sensual in private and has been likened to a tiger in her attitudes towards those she loves.

Her attitude towards sex outside of a relationship has not been elaborated upon.

Hobbies, Skills, and Employment

Farah is an extremely skilled basketball player and won awards for her abilities during her high school tenure. She is a very good cook and is thus largely self-sufficient. Having been taught by a Chinese chef of impeccable skill, she's picked up a certain skill at cooking in an oriental style, enough so that her culinary confections are as close to authentic as possible.

Farah is the owner of the New Moon Eatery, a Chinese restaurant located two blocks west of the Village Center. She previously owned a restaurant known as the Crescent Moon, but tore it down to build the New Moon on a better plot of land.

Relations

Farah is currently engaged to Meyumi O'Brennan, with whom she cohabitates above the New Moon Eatery. She has earned a fan in Coral and has expressed dislike for Jam.

History

Farah is the only child of Jordanian businessman Anwar Al-Khaid and his wife, an American aid worker by the name of Jenny Sadler. She was born in Amman and lived there for several months before her father's business forced them to move to the United States. She lived in Delaware for about a year before they were again moved, this time settling in Boulder City, not far from Las Vegas.

Though Farah's father was a moderate Muslim and her mother a moderate atheist, the household was remarkably stable. The girl's upbringing emphasized her father's faith but allowed her to easily reconcile it with the Western world - for the most part. She was an excellent student in school, standing out in History, Geography, and English primarily but also making a name for herself as an expert basketball player, and from age fifteen onward she apprenticed herself to a Chinese chef, leaning to cook Chinese food. She ended up working at a local Chinese restaurant - behind the scenes, of course, being the lone Arab in a facility run by full-blooded Chinese - and made a very respectable wage, enhanced by her natural smart saving habits. As soon as she had her license she'd managed to buy herself a used car - an old Ford Escort that she recalls fondly to this day. By the age of sixteen she discovered that she was homosexual but chose to conceal the fact, knowing that despite her father's relatively moderate beliefs his stance on homosexuality was still very negative. Eventually Farah's secret came out when her father discovered several Playboys hidden under her bed. Farah refused to lie about herself when confronted, stiffly admitting her sexual orientation, prompting a furious argument between she and her father. She left home the next day.

Farah checked herself into a hotel while she sorted out her options. While there a brochure for the Yuriba resort caught her eye, though she initially shelved the idea of going there. After some deliberation she began to consider the option again and ultimately decided to give Yuriba a try. Thus she boarded a plane and flew to Yuriba. Ultimately she encountered Meyumi O'Brennan, and the two found themselves drawn powerfully to each other, falling in love.

During June and July Meyumi was abruptly drawn from the island to deal with legal matters, and Farah found herself torn between her affection for Ms. O'Brennan and her feelings of loneliness at the other woman's unannounced departure. The recent return of Meyumi dispelled these feelings, and she has recently proposed to her lover; the two have yet to set a date.

Recently the pair seem to have left Yuriba, intent on traveling the world together. The New Moon has been left under the purview of Zhen.
