Haley is fairly outgoing and tries to be friendly--or polite at least--to everyone she meets. She's often seen wearing a sweater and jeans in the cooler weather, swapping the sweater for a buttoned-down t-shirt when it's warm. She has shoulder-length blonde hair, and works hard to keep in shape. She tends to downplay her career, as she feels it's arrogant to openly discuss being a model if she can avoid it. She is typically very confident in herself both in appearance and personality, but she has had a rocky history of relationships and has more than a few doubts about her ability to maintain one successfully. She frequently hangs out at her place in the Sun Lily Suites, though lately she tries to branch out and see new places.
History
Haley was born and raised in Texas, and is very proud of her heritage. She is also proud to have survived being a single parent, and is pleased that her daughter Megan has turned out to be such a lovely young woman. Megan actually came to Yuriba before Haley did, but Haley made the trip in early 2004 upon receiving a note that her daughter had fallen in love with a woman there and was planning to be married. Haley fell in love with Yuriba soon after arriving and stayed more or less permanently, though her work sometimes requires her to travel for extended periods of time.
Relationships, past and present
Towards the end of 2011, Haley finally branched out to meet new people, see new places and make new friends... something she realized with some embarrassment that she had not really tried to do in the previous 7 years in Yuriba. Since then, she has developed some close friendships with several gals, including Miyako, Salla, Cecily, Fujiko, Rae, Rilene_Karstens, Ada, Leona McAllistre, Anna, Ariadne, Dr._Jue_Tade, Cassidy, and Jennifer. All in all, the friendships Haley has developed over the last few years have done more to heal her heart than she could ever repay, and she is fiercely loyal to her friends as a result.
- Miyako: A series of coincidences and mutual friendships led Haley and Miyako Tanaka to discover one another around the time of the 2013 auction. The pair have been near inseparable ever since, though Haley is typically rather tight-lipped on the details of this relationship.
- Salla: After a chance meeting at the Crimson Rose and Sword, Haley and Salla became friends as the former sought to find the latter some clothing for her new life on the island. Over time, the two have spent more and more time with one another, to the point of practically living with each other either at Salla's cabin or at Haley's home. Their relationship has grown deeply over time, and appears to be particularly serious as of late.
- Cecily: Like many of her current friends, Haley and Cecily met through mutual acquaintances. They often lean on each other through life's tough moments, and they have developed a close bond of friendship as a result. In 2014 that friendship developed into something more, and Haley has found herself expecting twins with Cecily. She herself is surprised at her choice to be a mother again after so long, but she is also happily looking forward to sharing the experience with Cecily.
- Fujiko: Fujiko was one of the first gals that Haley met during her time of reinvention back in 2011, though it wasn't for another year or two before their surface-level friendship took a turn toward something more. She is often surprised to find overlap in their interests, and she enjoys the company of the island librarian immensely. Despite a career modeling clothing, Haley is frequently jealous of Fujiko's fashion sense and her closet collection.
- Ada: For a time, Haley and Ada were quite close, but some rocky periods between the two led to their splitting up. Haley's proposal to Jue was the final nail in the coffin. They have since rebuilt much of their friendship, and still enjoy each other's company today.
- Rilene: While Haley is a bit uncertain of where the relationship stands or where it is going, she can not deny that she is very fond of her sweet nudist friend.
- Dr._Jue_Tade: Haley proposed to Jue in 2012, and was thrilled to receive yes for an answer. The two started their relationship humbly as friends, and then it snowballed into something far greater than either of them expected. The date was never set, and after a few months Jue had to leave unexpectedly to attend to important matters off-island; this left Haley on her own, alone in a the woman's mansion up in the mountains. Months of living alone in that house finally drove Haley to make the hard choice to end the engagement.
- Coral: For a very long time, Haley had an on-again/off-again relationship with Coral Rainwater. Finally, the two split for good in 2011... Haley was very broken up about it at first, but eventually came to realize that the two women were clearly better off apart. The relationship has left its share of scars on her, but she also is quick to admit that she is very much at fault for the rocky periods as well.
