Henyanniichuan

One the myriad of Jusenkyou Springs on the island, Henyanniichuan is often translated as the Cranegirl spring. The specific crane in question appears to be a Red-crowned Crane. Those that bathe in the spring's waters tend to grow a pair of narrow, white-feathered crane's wings tipped in black and gain a red marking on the forehead (sometimes on the skin, other times as part of the hair). Clawed toes are another common aspect of the blessing.

Henyanniichuan is believed to be connected to the goddess Kikoutei; the cause for this link may lie in the circular, sun-like red "crown" both the crane and those touched by the blessing bear.
