Ichiko Suzuki is a transfer student from Japan attending Rinkei Gakuen, and an active practitioner of kendo. She is deeply in love with the Chinese chef and martial artist Meichen Long, and although they are not her legal guardians, she and Mei live with her tutor and classmate Mirabelle O'Shea and Mirabelle's fiancee Juliet. Ichiko is also closely involved with May Valentine.
In a particular episode of curiosity, Ichiko stumbled upon an artifact in Mirabelle's closet which she thought was a harmless ornament for a costume. It turned out to be the Soft White Puffball of Intrinsic Doom, and once she attached it to her skirt, gave her a nigh-irreversible condition of the Tunyanniichuan blessing. With some help from her roommates she managed to make the blessing react to water normally, but Mirabelle now keeps the Puffball under tighter security.
Ichiko's first accomplishment in Yuriba was her place as one of the winners of the kendo tournament during Yuriba's 2007 Summer Matsuri in the Junior division.
