Afterlife

Diverging significantly from many other religions, native Yuriban animism conceives of the afterlife as merely a stopping point where a soul waits during the transition period between one life and next. This realm is believed to be ruled by Zokutou and is a dark plane of quiet contemplation where the soul is capable of looking back over the course of the spiral that has been formed of its previous lives. This realm is seen importance as a place where the soul can fully realize and integrate lessons learned, allowing it to develop enough to move further along the spiral. The relative 'goodness' of a soul has no bearing on whether it enters this realm or not; positively inclined souls do generally move on to their next reincarnation more quickly than those with a significant negative taint.
