Kezzy
"Kezzy" is a young human girl recently arrived from an early-2000s Earth much like our own. She's quickly adapted to life in Yuriba, most often found at Leona's Bar and Girl when she is in the village proper.
Appearance
About average height with an athletic / curvy build, Kezzy has a narrow waist and narrow shoulders with a curvy rear and hips making her feel like she looks a bit bottom-heavy. She has wild, frizzy hair that is deep, dark brown with warm honey highlights. Her eyes are amber in color and her skin is the color of warm caramel with a few darker freckles across her cheeks and nose. Most often she wears a t-shirt with some sort of band logo under a leather motorcycle jacket, old bluejeans and even older boots.
Personality
Casual, relaxed and insatiably curious. She tries to be friendly to everyone she meets. She has an odd accent that doesn't belong to any particular region, group or people that from time to time almost seems to disappear but there isn't any pattern to it. She can certainly be selfish at times but never intentionally so, she usually just lives in the moment and doesn't always consider the bigger picture or how her actions may impact other people. Those she cares about she care about with fanatical intensity and even though she's not always the most cooperative or reliable person, she does her best to always make things right.
She talks quickly, often bouncing between subjects or ideas as things pop into her head or she catches bits of other conversations, making it difficult to follow her train of thought sometimes. Frequently, when she gets really going - or if she's had a few too many drinks - she'll contradict herself even in the same sentence, as if revealing something she didn't mean to and then quickly covering it up with several layers of quarter-truths and silly, obvious lies until she can find something new with which to distract herself.
She loves reading and is often found with a book or magazine stuffed in one of the pockets of her jacket, but it could be anything from science fiction to historical porn to real-life mysteries to accounts of supernatural phenomena. She has a passion for learning new things but she doesn't always read all that carefully and doesn't always recall all the details so quite often she'll just sort of blur all the details together until she's convinced there may have been ghost sightings at the LIGO facility and some researchers think it is proof of the many universes theory. She's become especially fond of this idea since Yuriba seems to have shown her that parallel universes exist and intersect in at least one place.
All of her obvious bluster and chaotic nature seems to be a front to cover a quieter, more sensitive side, but that rarely ever comes out in public and it is entirely possible that, too, is just another layer of her performance, covering up whatever may really be at the core of her personality.
Background
She hasn't told anyone on the island about where she came from or what she did there yet, but it's obvious she loves to push boundaries, take risks and doesn't seem to know what caution looks like, so of course never uses it. Probably that's gotten her in trouble in the past, probably it'll get her into trouble again in the future.
