Talk:Monogamy

I am uncomfortable with the current version of this page that basically suggests an 'immigrants monogamous/natives polyamorous' dichotomy. A great many long term residents who are not native characters are polyamorous and have always been so.

Furthermore, the comparative level of polyamorous and monogamous characters has overall remained roughly similar over variations in the level of native characters. An increase in native origins by approximately 5% is not enough to shift relationship demographics by 20%. There is no reason to tie the changes in romantic identification numbers to the arrival or departure of immigrants and it seems to be a false correlation.

In addition, the identification of monogamy as a 'majority' seems rather specious when it was such by less than 10% yet it is a 'sizable minority' when the gap is over twice that. --breisleach 11:23, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
