Brite Snail

Brite Snails are an indigenous version of snail akin to the luminescent snails of the Philippines. They live entirely in underground caves, and glow brightly. They have curled shells which seem to almost strobe, and the brite snails make a chiming noise as they crawl underground. They use the vibrations of other snails to guide them, and tend to form clusters close to one another to maximize their ability to use their songs to find one another. Also called Singing Snails, they are said to be able to fortell the weather, and when monsoons are coming their songs grow faster in intensity and the mollusks form clusters in sheltered areas to protect one another. While not particularly tasty and rather small, they can be used for charms to predict the weather and are a part of numerous weather blessings. While their lightshows are lovely, their songs are inaudible to those with human hearing, and one must be particularly attuned to pick up their high pitched sonnets.
