Overview

Childhood
Sakura was born in Okinawa in 1989 to a devout, pious and deeply religious mainland japanese family. She was the first daughter born to her father and mother. Amaya died during her second birth, which resulted in the loss of mother and son. The death of her mother later on as Sakura was in her formative young years caused a lot of stress and unhappiness, but rather than being whiney like other young children, Sakura withdrew into herself and her studies, or trying to be around her father whenever he was home.

Young Adult
In 2001, with the insanity that was plaguing international trade due to the September 11th terrorist attacks in the US, Sakura's father (rather than paying for a flight), booked Sakura on a ship to head to Japan to begin her secondary schooling. That ship went off course, and she ended up in Yuriba, alone. The inhabitants of the island nation seemed to welcome this shy girl, and soon she was enrolled at Rinkei Gakuen where she silently excelled in Earth Sciences as well as floral artistry. She would later on complete her Bachelor of Science in Botany; and rather than continuing her studies in a lab Sakura instead focused on naturapathy. Sakura can been see most of the time throughout the Sakura Retreat, taking care of the cherryblossoms and flowerbeds. She also weekly heads into the town center to sell beautiful floral arrangements, however as she charges so little, she seems to be unemployed.

Adulthood
Sakura now is currently busy organising to obtain enough resources to have a small Ikenobo school and gallery to be housed within the Sakura Estate. It will be the start of a new focus for the young woman, in giving to all inhabitants of Yuriba the beauty of nature in a classic artform. It also will showcase the power of earth magic and the very original flora that grow on the island.

Sakura returned from a long study in isolation where she worked diligently on becoming an Ikenobo master.

Personality & Beliefs

She is deeply mysterious, or so it seems; really she is just quiet -- the sort of silence that comes from someone who is perpetually thinking. She is very good at reading people and will stand around while her friends or family talks around her in a sort of a beautiful shy young woman way: remain in the background, speak only when necessary. However, when Sakura does speak, she can either be extremely kind or brutally mean. She is very good at taking wild guesses and finding precisely the points of upset in people. Sakura can sniff out lies and discomfort and can eerily pinpoint what a person is saying by making a wild guess. She takes pleasure in hurting other people but will only do so when she's positive it will render them defenseless -- she only takes kill shots. Though Sakura prefers the protection of her girlfriends, she has no qualms about fighting her own battles and acts much the same way with or without her friends. One of her greatest prides is her hair -- she loves having it long, so that she may style and play with it at will. Vastly intelligent, Sakura loves to spend time reading and writing and developing her floral arrangements to an artform.

Sakura does believe in Shinto and carries out those beliefs, although she has adopted local customs and beliefs as a local Yuriba native. Lately, Sakura holds meditation during the midnight hours when the moonlight shines upon the great Sakura tree; she has witnessed a white doe stepping out of the underbrush and Sakura believes the animal and herself might have a connection.

Appearance

Main Feature: particularly large, intense eyes

With a smokey gaze from large, expressive deep mahogany brown eyes shadowed beneath lush lashes and a prim, rosebud mouth, her fine features take on a doll-like quality and accentuate the delicate angles of her heart-shaped face. Beautiful, breath-takingly so, the lightly tanned young woman already has a fledgling sense of how to use her looks to her advantage and will be positively dangerous once she matures.
Small for her age and built like a bird, she has a vitality of spirit that belies her seemingly fragile appearance -- she almost never stops moving. While she is often smiling and laughing, there is an occasional flash of insincerity in her expression and a gleam of something cold in her glances, indicating that there might be more to her than meets the eye. Her dark black hair is of particular beauty, soft as silk, yet thick and glossy.

MOTHER: Amaya (Dead) Her mother died when Sakura was just six, so she hasn't many memories of her mother. Some people whispered that the death of Amaya made Sakura strange, quiet; that she was a much more pleasant child before the death but Sakura tends to brush that off. Amaya, she has gathered, was what her father expects from a woman -- but she seemed boring, so Sakura struggles to grant her father what he wants, this ideal woman, to behave just like her so he might be happy to have Sakura around.

FATHER: Kaemon Sakura's father was a business man in the prefecture of Okinawa. He dealt with trade in goods and heavy cargo, managing logistics for a large corporation. The man worked long hours, and often Sakura feels that he worked those long hours not because he had to, but because if he came home he'd find sorrow that he couldn't deal with. Sakura doesn't really think much highly of him.

Sakura's Lovers Amira - This young woman Sakura met at the white sands beach to the south. The two are very complimentary to one another and Sakura enjoys being in her presence. She is currently the "girlfriend" of Amira, and Sakura seems to be very much in love, enjoying the other woman immensely. Amira asked Sakura officially 11 July 2009. They've been going steady ever since.

Sakura's Friends Loex - A very close friendship that is blossoming. Loex is someone Sakura feels she can always call on to talk and discuss things.
