10th Anniversary Matsuri Still Life Drawing Contest

The Toshiba Market is proud to make it's part in the 10th anniverasy of the modern village by organizing it's very first contest and calls all the artists of the village to take part in it in honour of the Yuriban community and for their own pleasure.

The contest

The contest itself is essentially a simple, themed drawing contest. The theme is Still Life. Each work will be exposed at the Toshiba Market gazebo starting the first day of the matsuri (May 18th), which is also the deadline for submitting one's work. The works will be kept in exposition for a week after the end of the matsuri.

Rules

The drawing should represent food of any kind as long as it follows the canons of Still Life; artists are free to draw ANY kind of food they want, be it cooked or raw; game is also allowed. The drawing can also include a non edible object of choice of the drawer, should she want there to be one; Do you want to draw a classic fruit basket with your favourite book nearby? Feel free. Or maybe you'd prefer the subject to be the fish you caught along with your fishing rod? That's fine as well as long as the food is the main subject. You are also allowed to include no such thing as it is completely optional. The drawing should be in black and white, so that even less skilled drawers may participate and be even with the others; you may submit a coloured version of your drawing if you want, to furtherly show your skills to the community, but that won't count for the contest, and it will be exposed only after the contest is over. Also, it may be presented in any size the drawer chooses.

Participants can submit one drawing each, but, if dissatisfied with their work, may replace their drawing as many times as they like until the deadline, which is May 17th. The only drawing to count for the contest will be the last one to be submitted in any case. To submit drawings, or ask for further information, please page or @mail Falcio.

Evaluation

The drawings will be exposed, as anonymous, by the Toshiba Market at the start of the Anniversary Festival on May 18th; during the matsuri, visitors may vote, trough a ballot box, for the drawing they like best until the end of the festival, when the contest will be officially closed. The day after, the winner will be the drawer with the most votes and the names of the artists will be revealed.
