Amanohara

Amanohara is the Yuriban deity of the skies. She rules over the realms of winds and weather. While considered to be a minor goddess, rumor associates her with both the Tianshiniichuan and Kongqinyanniichuan springs. Amanohara is considered to be primarily a logical, intellectual goddess, although she is also portrayed as being playful.

Amanohara can be called upon by those who are sensitive to her powers, but given the capricious nature of the element she embodies, the skies and storms, she may or may not respond, at her whimsy. Manifesting as a bolt of lightning, a small stormcloud, a passing breeze, or any such atmospheric changes falls within her domain.

Symbols

Amanohara is associated with cerulean, other pale shades of blue, grays, and white. She is linked closely to the element of air, and the Old Yuriban rune for her name is a highly stylized representation of wind pushing a cloud. She has no specific sacred animal, but is rather linked to any and all birds and feathered creatures.

Followers

At present, the worship of Amanohara is practically non-existant among the civilization of Yuriba, as most of the residents have probably never even heard her name. She is recognized by the Guardians as one of the Yuriban pantheon who serve under The Lady.

In the past, when worship of Amanohara was more widespread, those priestesses who had devoted themselves to her would display their piety to their goddess by dousing themselves in the waters of the pool of Kongqinyanniichuan, the location of which was a highly guarded secret among her worshippers. Ritual outfits used in her worship were most often designed to resemble birds in flight. The dances performed in her honor were based on the actions of birds, leading to much jumping about and other frentic, fluttery movements.

Amanohara claims the end of summer, just before the turn of the seasons, between the time of Zansho's decline and Akibimi's ascendance, as her holy days. The actual dates would change from year to year, based on the speeds of the winds. The day with the fastest gusts was considered to be the end of her season. Her priestesses would dress in their finest outfits, and make a pilgrimage to the highest point on Yuriba, the summit of Akibimi-san, and there perform a ritual to pass the year into the keeping of the Fall Goddess.

Recent events

Amanohara had chosen the first of a new class of servants of Yuriba, a Sentry. This Sentry she invested with a portion of her own power, swore her to protect the island with her life, standing beside the Guardians should she be needed, the goddess having chosen Nagisa_Vendaris to serve her.
