Biography
Elara was born almost three-hundred and fifty years ago on the planet of Thessia to an asari Matriarch who had a high position as a commando and military leader. She and her twin sister were trained in the arts of combat from an early age, hunting wild animals and learning the use of firearms from the ages of thirty-four. When they were in their 160's, the twins were already proficient warriors and had served the asari republics for several decades.
After their third tour of service, they were honorably discharged for unknown reasons and joined the PMC known as Eclipse. There they cut a swath through all enemies they'd been pointed towards under the command of Captain Myra Visoni, a ruthless and efficient officer who taught them the nuances of the mercenary world. Eventually, she drove a wedge between the sisters which caused them to grow antagonistic between each other in an effort to cull the weaker sibling. Elara and her sister fought to the death once their rivalry grew to a violent fever pitch, and only Elara won after a long and brutal battle.
Decades later, Elara drifted the galaxy looking for work as a freelancer. Eventually she met an asari escort/dancer who soon became her closest friend and confidant. Their relationship blossomed to causal love as well, becoming friends with benefits to a degree.
Over time, the life of a mercenary grew bothersome to a weary Elara. She became tired of the fighting, and came to fall in love with a scientist she'd met on her travels by the name of Linya M'Tanis. They would have bonded and retired to a quiet life on Thessia if not for Elara's supposed death and disappearance on what should have been her last real job in the field.
On a highly classified operation, things had gone from bad to worse; Elara and her squad had been surrounded and outgunned severely by an unknown enemy, resulting in her mortal wounding and the possible loss of one other team member. Elara's body was abandoned out of necessity, and she died without anyone really knowing the whole story.
Then, she awoke in Yuriba clad in clothing different from that she'd been wearing before. Her memory of the incident is woefully unreliable, and she is still attempting to piece together what happened. How she got to the island from a station from over a hundred years in the future, and a change of attire is beyond her ken however...not that she's too worried now.
Recently, Elara's just been content to explore the island and meet it's colorful people. She's seen fit to find residence in the Pixie's Pride Inn so far, and has met with Jaye, Null, Coral, Fujiko, and many other residents of the island. The asari has finally found peace, and will not sacrifice it for anything else in the world. Still, it wouldn't hurt for the island to stop teleporting her all around to random people's homes and other places.
Appearance
Despite her lifespan, Elara has the body of a mid-twenty something woman. Her form is toned to a level befitting that of a warrior like her, powerful yet slender and beautiful. Her facial features however are soft and kind, though her gaze can be as harsh and sullen as the Night Winds when her anger is incurred.
Personality
Violent past aside, Elara is an intelligent and kind hearted soul deep down. She is friendly to most people, and tends to greet anyone she doesn't know on the island. Elara's penchant for hugs and kisses tends to betray her softer side as well, she is a gentle lover who both protects and cares for those close to her.
Interests
Elara is a simple one to entertain; she enjoys long walks around the island, reading a good book, chatting with friends at Leona's Bar and Girl, and snuggling with a loved one in either a bed or a couch. Despite being a poor musician, Elara's also an avid music lover and can sing to a decent enough degree. She also spends quite a bit of time at Hot Spring with Coral to the latter's delight considering Elara's sometimes lax modesty standards.
Friends and other relationships
Being asari, Elara is a casual lover who so far has grown close to quite a few people both in the sexual and platonic sense.
- Jaye had been one of the first people Elara met on the island in a long term sense, having stayed at the girl's cabin for a few nights at first.
- Leona McAllistre is one of Elara's closest friends, boss at the bar, and an on-off again lover.
- Angela had been one of the few people to have legitimately stolen Elara's heart and run off with it, which knowing her usual 'don't get too attached' policy is saying something. Despite recent friction over Angela's hardline-ness over certain subjects, Elara still loves her immensely and wouldn't give her up for anything in the world.
- While she and Beth had known each other for quite some time, Elara eventually came to fall in love with the medic during the 2012 Inishie crisis and are currently an item, practically inseparable nowadays at times.
- Unusually enough, Elara and Kinuko have become friends recently, having bonded while enjoying the rain and eventually talking about each other. The asari seems to look upon Kinuko as a confidant and like a little sister to her, respecting her too much as a person to flirt with the miko like with most.
- JO is Elara's personal assistant and companion who helps her with house work, cleaning, tech maintainence, (part of the criteria when Elara was looking for such a person to help with such things) and just a person to snuggle with. Elara finds all of the plushies to be equally wonderful to be with however, feeling very content with them around to snuggle and hang around with. Privately, the asari finds having even one of the plushies to remind her of sleeping with a plush back home as a child to her sheer glee.
