Expansion Era

Covering from the last months of 2004 through the present, the beginning of the Expansion Era of Yuriban history was marked by the minor mage-quake that split off the sub-island of Maboroshi in late 2004. This was accompanied by the further falling of ancient magical wards that had sealed off much of the rest of the island, including the main body of the forest and the mountains Akibimi-san, Engetsu-san, and Inishie-san.

During this era, a number of other previously inaccessible, though still hidden areas have been rediscovered, leading to the period's name. Among these are the sunken ruins of an ancient Lilian merchant's home in the depths of Yuriba Lake, an underground temple to Chikyuu, the grove of Yuriban Mangroves at the mouth of Yuriba River, and several others. The composition of the town itself has changed as well, with many abandoned and deserted businesses removed from the streets and replaced with newer, more active locales.

Perhaps the single most notable event to occur in this period outside of these changes was the March 7th, 2007 eruption of Inishie-san.
